More from World Water Day
Over the past decade, the Golden Globes red carpet has served as the setting for many fashion statements that have ended up on Google’s most searched outfit lists and praised (or not) on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
Here, WWD takes a look at some of the Golden Globes red carpet dresses that sparked interest online over the years:
Jennifer Lawrence, 2014
Wearing a white Dior dress with black straps, Lawrence saw her look transformed into a meme on social media, compared to a scene from “The Little Mermaid” and recreated with white sheets on social media by different influencers. That year, the actress won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in David O. Russell’s “American Hustle.” She is now nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for “No Hard Feelings.”
Kate Hudson, 2015

The Hollywood icon, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in “Youth,” wore a ruffled white Yves Saint Laurent dress.
