The best MagSafe accessories for your iPhone in 2024, tested and reviewed

I’ve been an iPhone user since the beginning, but only recently discovered MagSafe and really fell in love with it. Apple’s technology allows a wide range of accessories to be piggybacked on my phone (or vice versa), locking into place with a magnetic hug that’s both satisfying and secure. There are power banks, desk stands, car mounts, wallets, and more, all of which are compatible with the iPhone 12 and later. Below I’ve rounded up what I consider to be the best MagSafe accessories you can get.

These aren’t just random picks either – I’ve tried most of these products and can confirm that they’ve earned a spot on our list. The few I haven’t tried were included based on several criteria, including price, reputation, user reviews, and comparison to competing products.

MagSafe accessories come in all shapes and sizes: power banks, wallets, car mounts, phone holders, and many more. (Photos, clockwise from left: Fokimdo, ExtreLife, iOttie, ESR)

An important note before we dig in: All of these products will work fine with a “bare” iPhone, but if you keep yours in a case (which you should), make sure it’s MagSafe compatible, which means it has a visible magnet or integrated. ring to extend MagSafe’s reach to the back of the case. Otherwise, your accessories may not lock securely enough. (Good news: If you love your current case but it doesn’t support MagSafe, there’s an inexpensive upgrade kit you can buy. Read more about that below.)

ZtotopCases

Typically priced around $10, this simple MagSafe wallet is an incredible bargain. Its slightly elastic pocket can hold up to five cards and its clever folding stand (also magnetic) lets you prop up your phone for hands-free viewing. You have to open that holder to be able to take out your cards, but that’s the only usability issue on an otherwise useful and very affordable accessory.

ESR

If your favorite phone case doesn’t have MagSafe pass-through, you can add ESR HaloLock to the back. It’s basically an adhesive MagSafe ring, a sort of magnet conversion kit. And ESR provides a handy printed placement guide so you’re sure to place it in exactly the right position. You can get HaloLock in three colors: black, white, or blue.

Mozoter

The bargain to beat, Mozoter’s 10,000 mAh battery costs less than half the price of others, and it has a few special tricks up its sleeve. First, it’s waterproof and shockproof, with stylish orange corner protectors to help it survive drops. Secondly, it has a 3-setting LED light panel on its back, useful for basic flashlight purposes or even as a fill light for video recording. I am surprised by the good value it has.

EWA

This clever MagSafe ring combines a silicone finger strap in the center with a foldable kickstand for hands-free phone viewing (vertically or horizontally). It’s super low profile so you’ll barely notice it’s there and you don’t need to remove it for car mounting or wireless charging. The price seems a little high, but it’s probably worth it; This is one of my favorite MagSafe accessories.

Sinjimoru

Most MagSafe wallets are just pockets; The M-Card Zip is a slim, foldable plastic case with room for up to three cards on the left side and some cash on the right. The same elastic strap that holds the cash provides a comfortable multi-finger phone grip on the outside of the case, and it has a cleverly designed silicone band that folds up to become a phone stand (though only for viewing horizontal). You also get a small strap that can optionally attach the wallet to your phone case, in case it comes loose in your bag or something. I’m concerned about the longevity of the plastic clasp that keeps the wallet closed, but overall I really like this design.

Extreme life

If you like the idea of a MagSafe wallet, you might like it even more: ExtreLife’s card holder includes a place for an AirTag (not included), meaning that if the wallet is ever lost, you’ll have an easier time locating it . . Meanwhile, the stretchy fabric allows you to carry up to seven cards, not just two or three like in some wallets.

The stick company

Take a strong but flexible silicone-coated metal cable, wrap it around a magnetic disk, and you have the IMStick.Pro. This flexible phone mount works as a kickstand, bike mount, tripod mount, finger grip, and more, and the back is also magnetic so you can attach it to a MagSafe car or desk mount. (It doesn’t support pass-through charging, though, so you’ll have to remove it for that.) The cable can be a little awkward to use, but I can’t argue with the versatility of this thing.

UCOMX

When traveling, don’t carry a mix of charging cables and AC adapters, at least if you have Apple products. This super convenient 3-in-1 charging station includes a MagSafe pad for your iPhone and wireless docks for your Apple Watch and AirPods. It folds into an easy-to-carry stack when not in use, but can also be converted into a stand for hands-free phone viewing. This is what I take for trips now; When I arrive, I set it up next to my bed for easy overnight charging of all my Apple devices.

Available in black or brown, Geo packs four useful features into one accessory. It’s a three-card wallet, a kickstand, a finger grip, and an AirTag. Well, sort of: There’s AirTag-like functionality here in that the Geo fully supports Apple Find My (unlike Apple’s own wallet, which only has rudimentary Find My support). Therefore, if the wallet is lost, you will be able to easily identify its location. However, the battery lasts only three months and the charging cable is exclusive, but that doesn’t stop me from really liking this product; It’s one of my favorite MagSafe accessories.

Baseus

With its 10,000 mAh battery, this power bank has more capacity than most, all the better to keep your phone running until you find an AC outlet. But it also has raised magnets to help reduce overheating, a kickstand that allows for hands-free vertical and horizontal viewing, and a digital readout on the back that shows how much charge remains. I especially like the 24-month warranty and the fact that there is often a discount or coupon that reduces the price.

anker

PopSocket users are a loyal bunch, so it can be difficult for someone used to using one to live without it. If that’s you, this is the battery pack to get. Anker has basically grafted one of the small pop-up grips onto an otherwise pretty standard 5000mAh charger. The good thing is that it can also be used as a stand, although only in horizontal orientation. Expect a deal on this one; I’ve seen it for as little as $40.

iOttie

If you’re going to use your phone for car navigation and such, I highly recommend a mount that keeps it close to eye level. The Velox Pro can vacuum your windshield or dashboard, giving your phone not only a secure MagSafe mount but also a charger. Worried about damage caused by the sun’s heat? Don’t be: this thing also has a fan to keep things cool. I don’t love the cable that runs from the mount to your car’s power port, but there’s no way around it; The power has to come from somewhere!

anker

To look at the Anker 637 is to see a desktop charging stand for your phone, but it’s much more than that. Look to the back and you’ll find three AC outlets, two USB Type-A ports, and two USB-C ports. In other words, this is the complete power pack, capable of supplying power to up to eight (!) elements at once. I must admit that I like a desk stand more than I thought; It keeps the screen upright so you don’t have to reach for your phone every time a notification arrives.
